Overpass named in honor of A.E. Blaylock (Local News ~ 10/24/24)
The overpass coming off Highway 14 into Payneway was recently named in honor or A.E. (AB) Blaylock. Blaylock moved to Harrisburg Corner (Payenway) in 1940 and settled on 40 acres on Highway 14 just east of Payneway. He was a Deputy Sheriff and Constable for many years, even up to his death in 1982... -
Link appointed to Trumann City Council

Tyronza man arrested on felony DWI charges (Local News ~ 10/24/24)
Cameron Ray Allison, 33, of Tyronza was charged with felony driving while intoxicated on October 16. An Arkansas State Police trooper reported clocking Allison driving 98 miles an hour on Interstate 555 in Craighead County at 7:00 a.m. Trooper First Class Tyler Ashcraft stated in the affidavit that he could smell the odor of intoxicants, and asked Allison to come to his patrol unit. While in the patrol vehicle, Allison advised Ashcraft he drank a pint of vodka the previous night... -

Housing project underway in city of Tyronza

Construction began at the corner of Church and Memphis Street in Tyronza on October 6 as they began construction on the apartments of a new sub-division in the city. Ritter Arnold, Partner in MPR Properties, said that phase one will be approximately 20 residential lots and then 24 apartments. Tyronza is 30 minutes away from Jonesboro, Memphis, and Osceola.
