Harrisburg School receives grants

The Arkansas Economic Development Commission Division of Rural Services awarded grants worth $537,209 this week to schools throughout the state thanks to wildlife fines collected by the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission. Harrisburg School District benefited from the grants as Harrisburg High School received $2,968.58 in funding to purchase AIS (Archery in the Schools) equipment and Harrisburg School District received $2,968.58 in funding for YSS (Youth Shooting Sports ) materials. ...

Delta EMS, a volunteer ambulance service in Trumann, held a blood drive this past Monday to help the blood shortage across the country. The drive was in collaboration with the American Red Cross. John Cook, who led the blood program, was hoping 20 people would donate blood but only 11 people participated. Cook said 33 lives will be saved by the donations.
