Jaron Burrow scored 26 points to lead BIC (17-5) to a 66-65 win over Ridgefield Christian in basketball action this past Friday in Monette. The Mustangs trailed 32-29 at halftime and 43-41 after three. Nicholas Patterson added 12 points and Caden Whitehead finished with 11 points for BIC. Sadie McDonald poured in 26 points to lead Manila (17-1, 6-0) to a 50-29 win over Piggott in 3A-3 conference action this past Saturday in Piggott. The Lady Lions led 26-13 at halftime. Olivia May added 10 points for the Lady Lions. Manila (11-6, 5-1) picked up a 3A-3 conference win by beating Piggott 53-32 this past Saturday in Piggott. The Lions led 20-16 at the half and 47-26 after three quarters of play. Brayden Nunnally led in scoring with 17 points as Jake Baltimore netted 14 points for the Lions.

Trumann school board expels several students

The Trumann School Board met on December 20 with board members Anthony Patterson and Revis Kemper absent from the meeting. The board heard from Attorney Rebecca Worsham about the possibility of pursuing legal action against ACE Sign Company regarding the ongoing trouble/problems with the Jumbotron/Videoboard at RMC Stadium. The board then had a closed suspended expulsion hearing. The board approved to suspend the expulsion of the student for the Spring Semester of the 2021-2022 school year...
