Man killed in Poinsett County accident

A 57 year old man was killed on November 16 when a large log broke through the windshield of his excavator striking him. The accident happened near Rivervale around 5 p.m. The victim's name has not been released. The victim was working at Ditch 59/56 when a large log penetrated the windshield. One worker, who was several yards away, said he saw the victim fall from the excavator and went to help him. The victim reportedly told the man “he could not breathe and then stopped breathing.”...
