After meeting with members of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in December to discuss the flooding problem in, mainly concerning Ditch 12, Trumann Mayor Barbara Lewallen has said the Corps has approved funding for a study of Ditch 12. Running along Maple Grove Lane and I-555, Ditch 12 carries most of the city’s floodwaters and the city has been working since 2018 on ways to improve the flooding situation.
