He was born August 8, 1938 in Trumann, to the late A.G. and Gladys Smith Murphy and lived most of his lifetime in Trumann. METTER, GA. - Mary Christine Putt Qualls, 92, died October 24, 2017 at Ogeechee Area Hospice in Statesboro. The Mississippi native moved to Metter in 2006 from Jacksonville, Fla. One of nine children, she had lived most her life in Indiana and Arkansas. Mrs. Qualls is a member of the Metter First Baptist Church.
