JONESBORO - Mrs. Wanda Dean Baldwin, 84, departed this life on Sunday, October 15, 2017 at St. Elizabeth Place in Jonesboro, Ark. She was born Wednesday, July 19, 1933 in Corning, Ark., and lived in Jonesboro for the last 20 years. She was a housewife and a member of Trumann First Christian Church. TRUMANN - Mr. Walter Lee Johnson, 62, departed this life Monday, October 9, 2017 in Trumann at the family residence. He was born in Lepanto, Ark., and lived in Trumann since 1997 and was formerly of Clinton, Ark. He worked in the lawn service business and was of the Baptist faith. Trumann (2-21) had their season come to an end this past Monday with a 21-25, 18-25, 10-25 three set loss to the Pocahontas in the opening round of the 4A Northeast district tournament. The Lady Wildcats were led by Hannah Criag who went 5-5 serving with kills as Sydney Callahan finished with nine kills. Mycha Wilson was 8-8 serving with 10 digs, Jenny Walton was 6-6 serving, Misty Moye had 22 digs as Olivia Greenwell and Hannah McClaughlin totaled 10 and 9 assists respectively...

Harrisburg (10-8) got 11 kills from Olivia Deckelman as the Lady Hornets beat Highland 25-17, 25-22, 25-21 to advance to the semi-finals of the 4A Northeast district volleyball tournament. The win also secures Harrisburg a spot in the Class 4A state tournament...

EPC's Madison Wiggins and Railey Jennings were ousted 6-3, 6-0 in the quarter-finals of the Class 2A state tennis tournament this past Monday by a team from Hampton. EPC's Trey Howard and Isaiah Taylor were also eliminated this past Monday 6-0, 6-2 by Parkers Chapel. ...

Defense was the name of the game last Thursday as the Harrisburg (3-3, 2-3) defense scored what proved to be the winning touchdown before holding Trumann (3-4, 1-4) on downs with less than a minute left to preserve a 13-12 win at Wildcat Stadium. Harrisburg received the ball to start off the game as James Pender returned the kick-off out to the Junior Wildcats 47-yard line. ...
