Jehlian Wright was 11-11 serving with two aces, Olivia Deckleman had 17 kills, one block, 12 digs, three aces as she went 11-12 serving, Shaw Faulkner was 13-14 serving with two aces and 17 digs as Lacey Lambright finished with 16 digs and two aces for the Lady Hornets...

Trumann (1-0) jumped out to a 21-0 lead scoring on their first three possessions on their way to a 35-20 win over Hoxie in opening night action of high school football. Paul McAnally, President of Southern Bancorp Trumann, was the guest speaker last Wednesday at the Trumann Lions Clubs' weekly meeting. McAnally has been with Southern Bancorp for 17 years and has served as president since 2012. "We are a community-minded bank and want to do what we can to help in the community," McAnally said. ...

Five arrests were made in Lepanto last week for operating illegal gambling machines at businesses. According to a press release from Poinsett County Sheriff Kevin Molder, the sheriff's office executed search warrants on Aug. 31 at Judy's Snack House, Lepanto Auction, Landen's Tires, Mama's Attic, Harbin's Body Shop, and T&B Outdoors. Molder said this was the result of an ongoing investigation over several months. Thirty-three gambling machines total were seized from the businesses...
