Area players enjoy high school All-Star week

Four area high school athletes got to suit up one last time for the their school as they participated in All-Star week last week at the University of Central Arkansas. Harrisburg's Keely Curtis was a member of the East squad as the softball teams played a double-header on June 20. Curtis got to play for her high school coach one last time at Chastan Caprino was an assistant coach for the East team. Hartley chosen for all-state softball team

Bay's Mallory Hartley was selected to the Class 1A all-state softball team for her accomplishments on the diamond for the Lady Yellowjackets softball team. Hartley batted .566 this past season with 30 hits, six homeruns, 21 RBIs, 23 runs scored and 15 stolen bases in helping the Lady 'Jackets to a conference runner-up and a birth in the 1A-2 regional tournament. ...
