Lexi Perry of Marked Tree signed a letter of intent to play basketball for Central Baptist College (CBC) in Conway. Perry played the last two years at Mineral Area College. During her time at Mineral Area, Perry helped the Lady Cards win a conference championship and a regional runner-up while being ranked #21 nationally in the 2015-16 season. J'Sebian Brown of East Poinsett County was tabbed for the Class 2A all-state basketball. Brown helped lead the Warriors to a 22-10 record advancing to the quarter-finals of the Class 2A state basketball tournament. Brown, a 6'6” guard, averaged 19 points a game to go along with 8 rebounds, four assists and two steals a game. ...

East Poinsett County's Xzavier Reed capped off his senior year of high school basketball by being selected to the Class 2A state basketball team. Reed, a 6'3” guard, had an outstanding year averaging 22 points, six rebounds, four assists and two steals a game as the Warriors finished the season with a 22-10 record after advancing to the second round of the state basketball tournament. ...

Jordyn Brewer singled to score Sarah Tacker in the bottom of the seventh giving EPC (12-6) a 4-3 win over Marmaduke (18-3) this past Friday in Lepanto. The win was the Lady Warriors first ever win over the Lady Greyhounds. Jordan Mays struck out leading off for Marmaduke as Natalie Lentz followed with a ground out. ...

Marked Tree fell behind early, cut the lead to one midway through the game before falling 8-2 to the Riverside Lady Rebels in non-conference softball action this past Monday in Marked Tree. The Lady Rebels went down in order in the top of the first as Delaney George lined out, Katie Towery popped out and Carson Smith struck out. ...

Bay jumped out to an early lead and Taylor Layne kept the BIC bats relatively quiet as the Yellowjackets took an 8-2 win over the Mustangs this past Tuesday in Monette. Dylan Creech walked to lead off the game for Bay as Nolan Smith followed with a walk. ...

Trumann's Hannah Craig threw a one-hitter as the Lady Wildcats beat Manila 10-0 in high school softball this past Tuesday in Manila. Anna Waleszonia had two hit and four RBIs to lead the Lady Wildcats at the plate as Maddi Payne had three hits and two RBIs. Daly Taylor had two hits and two RBIs for Trumann. Craig struck out three in the six inning win...

EPC scored four runs in the bottom of the first inning and never looked back as they went on to beat conference rival Marked Tree 14-1 last Thursday in high school baseball action in Lepanto. The Indians went down in order against EPC starter Hayden Malone as Kentarius Allen and Eli McCrary both struck out and Gavin Lowry grounded out. ...
