Utley tabbed all-state in basketball

Bay point guard Dustin Utley was selected to the boys' Class 1 all-state team to cap off his senior year of high school. Utley, who for the past two years his job was getting the ball in the hands of the team's scorers, had a great year filling up the stat sheet every time he hit the floor averaging 15.4 per points, 6.8 rebounds per game and 3.7 assists per game. ...

Layne garners all-state selection

Even though the season didn't end like he wanted, Bay's Taylor Layne capped off a great high school career with his selection to the boys' Class 1A all-state basketball team. This was Layne's second year to be selected. Layne averaged 19.4 points a game along with 1.98 rebounds and 1.95 assists per game while shooting 38.3 percent from field, 33.4 percent behind the three-point line and 84.9 percent from the free throw line. ...

Harrisburg found out it's hard to beat a team three times in the same season. The Hornets fell behind early to Pocahontas and could never catch up as they lost 12-4 this past Friday in high school baseball action in Harrisburg. The Redskins got to starter Jett Jackson early as they capitalized on two Harrisburg errors and a three-run homerun to take the early 3-0 in the top of the first. ...
