Lepanto council approves cemetery ordinance

The Lepanto City Council took care of some old business Tuesday with the approval of an ordinance regulating headstone height in the new section of the cemetery. Last month, the council discussed the old ordinance which stipulated that gravestones in section four of Potter Memorial Cemetery be flat but did not specify that they be ground level. Daniel Vaughn was recently named a 2017 Arkansas Star of Life for dedication to EMS. Daniel Vaughn serves as a paramedic with Riverside Ambulance Service. Daniel began his EMS career nine years ago when he became an EMT at the age of 18. After receiving his EMT certification, Daniel decided to further his career in EMS and became a paramedic in 2014. Wilcox talks need for more CASA volunteers

CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) volunteers advocate for children in the foster care system. They act as both the court's eyes and ears as well as a voice for the children to make sure they are placed in the situation that is best for them. Within the Second Judicial District, Poinsett County accounts for 22 percent of the children in foster care but only has seven percent of the CASA volunteers. ...
