NEA fishing report

Lake Poinsett State Park said the adage "time does fly when you are having fun" would be an appropriate saying for a fisherman. Many are out there just to enjoy the beautiful weather and relax. The serious fishermen are still buying the goldfish to bait their lines. Minnow sales are picking up, as well as the worms and crickets. The weather is right but the water level is still low...

Area sports roundup (High School Sports ~ 10/13/16)
EPC (4-2, 2-0 2A-3) fell 12-6 to Des Arc in non-conference football action this past Friday in Des Arc. Chanc Gray passed for 80 yards and touchdown while adding 31 yards rushing to lead the Warriors' offense. Eric Driver and Trevor Walker each had 48 yards rushing as Jonathan Gilmore caught two balls for 36 yards and a touchdown. Gray finished with 12 tackles with Gilmore adding 11 tackles for the EPC defense. Walker and Andrew Cavitt finished with nine and eight tackles respectively... -
Junior Wildcats drop conference game to Gosnell (High School Sports ~ 10/13/16)
Trumann (1-5, 0-4 4A-3) scored on their opening drive against Gosnell to take an early lead but then couldn't find answer for the Junior Pirates' running game as the visitors took a 26-6 win over the Junior Wildcats on homecoming night at Wildcat Stadium... -
Second half collapse costly for Hornets (High School Sports ~ 10/13/16)
Harrisburg (0-6, 0-3 4A-3) played a great first half of football against Highland as they trailed 13-12 at the half. The Hornets self-destructed in the second half as Highland put up 29 points while hold Harrisburg scoreless to take a 42-12 conference win this past Friday at Hornet Stadium...
