HORSESHOE BEND - Charles Hamilton Clements of Horseshoe Bend, Ark., died Thursday at the family residence at the age of 77. MARKED TREE - Norman Carl Sage, 75, of Marked Tree passed from this life on Friday, April 1, 2016, from brain cancer. He was born on November 27, 1940, to Clarence and Dorothy Sage in Quemado, New Mexico. Norman was a member of the church of Christ and over the years served as deacon and minister. Heavy storms on March 31 flooded several streets in Trumann. Friday morning, Mayor Barbara Lewallen noted that the water was draining very slowly because the eight inches of rain had accumulated so quickly the day before. She said Trumann city hall dealt with flooding issues all day last Thursday, and she drove throughout the city with Office of Emergency Management Coordinator Wayne Hogan to document the flooding. ...

Stepping Stone Sanctuary in Trumann held its grand opening last week and is already looking at expansion. Director Jeff Weaver said the homeless shelter has been doing great since their soft opening earlier in March and the opening of their food pantry in February. BEDFORD - Bobby Joe Rowlett born April 9, 1933, in Trumann, passed away April 1, 2016, in Bedford, Texas. Bob grew up in Trumann and graduated from Trumann High School in 1950. He went on to graduate at Arkansas State with a degree in Chemistry in 1954 and a degree in Chemical Engineering at the University of Mississippi in 1959.
