Bay (18-4) jumped out to a 19-6 lead over EPC (9-5) after the first quarter and never looked back as the Yellowjackets swarmed the Warriors 60-24 last Wednesday in the championship game of the Division I boys' NEA Invitational Tournament held at the Convocation Center at Arkansas State University...

Harrisburg (7-9) trailed by 12 headed into the fourth quarter before cutting the lead to five with a minute left as Augusta hit just enough free throws for an 81-74 win over the Hornets this past Saturday in the Kell Classic at Swifton. Augusta scored the first six points of the game before Walker Hammond hit a jumper for Harrisburg to make the score 6-2. ...

Trumann (3-6) had four players score in double digits as the Wildcats downed Newport 72-38 in their opening round game of the Kell Classic being held in Swifton. Newport got on the board first with a basket down low as Kevonte Andrews answered for Trumann with an old-fashioned three-point play making it 3-2 Wildcats. ...

Trumann (5-8) trialed the entire game but cut the lead to one with under a minute left and had possession of the ball. A miscommunication on the inbound play caused a five second call on Trumann turning the ball over to Highland who went on to win 50-47 in the Kell Classic...

Harrisburg (9-3) raced out to a 21-2 lead after the first quarter over Armorel on their way to a 63-31 win in opening round action of the Kell Classic this past Monday in Swifton. The Lady Hornets opened the game with a 13-0 as Emily Armstrong canned a a three-pointer to start thing off followed by a steal and lay up from Jessica Webb making it 5-0. ...

Markel Perry scored 16 points and D'Angelo Griffin added 10 points as the Marked Tree Indians (10-4) beat Cross County 53-48 in high school basketball action this past Saturday. Marked Tree also won the junior high game 54-23. The EPC Lady Warriors got 28 points and 10 rebounds from Krystan Vornes as they beat Riverside 58-47 in 2A-3 conference play this past Monday night. Becca Bishop tossed in 11 points and Markiya Ward added 10 points for the Lady Warriors...

Bay (20-4) got 42 points from Tyler Pritchett as the Yellowjackets beat Trumann (4-7) 87-41 in boys' high school basketball action this past Tuesday at Wildcat Gym. Pritchett opened the scoring with a jumper to give Bay an early 2-0 lead. Kelon Booker answered for Trumann with a three-pointer to put the Wildcats up 3-2. ...
