Marked Tree (2-3, 0-2 2A-3) dropped their second straight 2A-3 conference game of the season falling 44-14 to Earle this past Friday at Don Lovell Memorial Field in Marked Tree. Earle looked as if they were going to score on their first possession driving inside the Indians one-yard line before a bad snap on fourth down sailed over the quarterback's head and was recovered by Ricky Harmon at the Marked Tree 13-yard line with 7:38 left. ...

Ground broken for new elementary school

After a groundbreaking ceremony held Tuesday afternoon, the construction of a new elementary school for Trumann is under way. Cedar Park Elementary was built in 1962, and the buildings have definitely seen better days. Parts of the facility flood when it rains, the bathrooms do not have adequate access for disabled students, and the size of classrooms are not up to current standards. ...
