Junior high football season is just around the corner. Teams open play September 4.

Former East Poinsett County standout A.J. Turner was released from the Arkansas State Red Wolves football team this past Monday for violation of team rules. "We obviously have team rules in place to benefit and strengthen our entire football program," said Anderson. "It's disappointing that A.J. was unable to adhere on multiple occasions to the standards and expectations we have in place for the entire team, and that led to his dismissal. Trumann (1-0) won all three volleyball matches over West Memphis as the Senior, Junior and Senior B teams all posted wins this past Monday in West Memphis. The Lady Wildcats road the strong performance of Ashton Parker to win their match 22-25, 25-22, 27-25 and 25-21. Parker finished the night with 14 kills, 23 digs and 11 aces. Alli Victory had 17 digs and three aces, Neely Blagg added nine kills and Hannah Wood recorded four aces...
