A train that was derailed during the June 5 storm caused a detour on Highway 49 in Poinsett County, according to Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) officials. A man who fled from officers in Trumann last year has pleaded guilty to possession of a firearm. Jacob A. Brown, 22, who was arrested on Nov. 19, 2013, pleaded guilty Monday to possession of a defaced firearm and possession of a firearm by certain persons. Brown was sentenced to 72 months in the the Arkansas Department of Correction followed by a 96-month suspended sentence on the firearms charges...

The 2nd annual Marked Tree Community Resource Fair is set to be bigger and better this year with a wide variety of vendors.
