Locally, Bob Cantrell won the Democratic nomination for County Judge in the primary election with 56% of the vote and Randy Jones won District 1 Justice of the Peace with 63% of the vote. According to the unofficial results from County Clerk Fonda Condra's office, Cantrell beat both Kevin Caldwell and Wade Lamb with 676 votes to Caldwell's 297 and Lamb's 233. Jones beat Tom House 87-51. Cantrell will face Republican Ron Allison in the county judge race in November... -
Baseball, softball seasons end for county teams

High school baseball and softball seasons came to an end for four teams in Poinsett county this past weekend. Marked Tree and EPC both played this past Friday.
