Tyronza to apply for rural fire grant

The Tyronza City Council Tuesday night approved a resolution authorizing Mayor Marion Bearden to apply for a Rural Fire Protection Grant. The grant is a $5,000 matching grant for obtaining equipment for the fire department. The plan is to use the funding to purchase eight new fire turnout coats and pants to replace the eight oldest pairs of turnouts.
