During their regular monthly meeting Trumann Chamber of Commerce extended their heartfelt thanks to the generous business sponsors who contributed to Trumann's 2013 Wild Duck Festival and enhanced a very special event. Thompson Funeral Home was responsible for donating a personalized banner to the chamber for the festival. Trumann's Junior Wildcats travelled to Gosnell to take on the Junior Pirates in junior high football action. Trumann (1-4, 0-2) was handed a 46-14 loss. Koltan Jones led the Trumann offense with 104 yards rushing with a touchdown and a two-point conversion. Coty Buckner had 89 yards rushing with a touchdown and Garrett Woods finished with 57 yards rushing with a touchdown and a two-point conversion. Trumann (0-5, 0-2 4A-3) travelled to Westside this Friday night for senior high football action. After a close first half, the home team outscored the Wildcats 21-8 in the second half for a 49-28 win. Jesse Buchanan led the Wildcats with 148 yards rushing followed by Grayson Dye with 93 yards on the ground. Justin Liles scored two touchdowns for Trumann as Buchanan and Willie Moore each scored a touchdown. Moore led the defense with seven and a half tackles...

Hornets swatted on homecoming

It was homecoming night in Harrisburg as the Hornets hosted the Osceola Seminoles in a 3A-3 conference game. The game was close in the first half, but Osceola's speed wore the Hornets down as they went on to a 42-18 win. Harrisburg got the ball to open the game and couldn't do much as they were forced to punt with 10:38 left in the quarter. ...
