Area teams fall at state tourneys

Baseball and softball seasons came to a close for the Marked Tree and Harrisburg teams in their respective state tournaments last week. Marked Tree (14-13) lost 6-1 to to Palestine-Wheatley in the Class 2A state tournament being held at Parkers Chapel. Trumann honors athletes

Trumann High School held their annual sports athletic banquet this past Saturday night at the TIS cafeteria. The event was hosted by the Trumann Athletic Booster Club. Volleyball was the first sport to be honored on the night. In junior high all-conference performers Savannah Morgan and Ashton Parker were awarded the best passer and best setter awards respectively. ...
