Lady Wildcats volleyball splits games By Anthony Cossey, DT Sports Editor The Trumann Lady Wildcats split their games this week as they posted a win over Cave City, 25-10, 25-17 and 25-19 this past Monday before falling to Brookland this past Tuesday, 21-25, 24-26, 25-23 and 20-25. Trumann's record stands at 11-6 overall and 6-4 in conference play. Against Cave City, Macey Davis was 16/16 serving with 8 assists, Courtney Toddy had 8 assists, Hannah Walters 8 kills and Kelly Guthrie 7 kills and 9 digs. In the Brookland match, Kelly Guthrie was 18/18 serving, 8 kills and 9 digs, Hannah Walters had 8 kills with 15 digs, Scarlett Davis recorded 15 digs and Macey Davis had 10 assists.

Local junior high football results

Kyler Gordon led the EPC Junior Warriors in rushing with 107 yards while scoring a touchdown and two-point conversion as the Junior Warriors handed the visitors from Augusta a 48-6 loss. Chanc Gray scored two rushing touchdowns as Malik Monk scored on an 82-yard run and returned an interception for a score. ground while also catching two passes for 39 yards. Clay Malone connected on three of his five pass attempts for 48 yards. The Junior Hornets lost to Osceola on the road this past Thursday. Tied at 14 at halftime, the Junior Seminoles went on to post a 40-14 win. Dillon Russell led Harrisburg in rushing with 145 yards on 15 carries. Connor Haag had a touchdown run of 23 yards and also passed for a touchdown. Walker Hammond was on the receiving end of the 20 yard touchdown pass as they used the tackle eligible play. Hammond had another catch of 37 yards on the night. Russell had six tackles on the night to lead the defense. Marked Tree reported no score or stats.

The Trumann Junior Wildcats travelled to Westside this past Thursday for junior high football action. Trumann turned the ball over four times as the Junior Warriors capitalized on all four of them to hand Trumann a 36-8 loss. Trumann received the ball first and put together a nice drive that took almost all the first quarter getting down to the Junior Warriors 30-yard line only to see the first of Garrett Woods' four interceptions end the drive. ...

The Harrisburg Hornets travelled to the cotton patch in Wilson this past Friday for a 3A-3 conference game with the Rivercrest Colts. The host Colts rolled to a 40-6 win over the Hornets. Devon Jarrett scored Harrisburg's only touchdown on a 65-yard run early in the third quarter. ...
