Poinsett County Judge Charles Nix issued a burn ban on June 28. No outdoor burning is permitted until the ban is lifted. "A long duration of dry, hot weather has created extreme hazardous conditions for potential fires throughout Poinsett County," Judge Nix said. "Fire Districts have reported numerous calls and dangerous conditions. The Arkansas Forestry Commission has classified all of Arkansas as being in high wildfire danger."...
