Trumann Fire Chief Rick Winkles said he doesn't have a clear cut determination of what cause a blaze at the former Barton's location on Arkansas 463. Winkles said the TFD was called to the fire at 9:50 a.m., on Aug. 26. The chief said firefighters could see the fully-involved blaze as they were leaving their station on Main Street. TRUMANN- Carlios Wade Shoopman 72, of Trumann, died Thursday, August 26, 2010 at St. Vincent Hospital in Little Rock. Shoopman was born in Lake City and had lived his lifetime in Trumann. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy, retired factory worker and attended the Calvary Pentecostal Church in Trumann. . With all the talk about the election and about the immigration laws surfacing this week , I was reminded of an article that I recently read in a Christian magazine about our freedom. I also watched a movie about immigrants of different nationalities struggling to achieve legal status that made me realize just how fortunate I really am to live in the United States...
