Sgt. Erich Smallwood was honored by his alma mater last Friday when Trumann High School retired his football jersey in a moving halftime ceremony. A 2002 graduate of THS, Smallwood died in Iraq on May 26 from injuries suffered in an IED blast. At THS, he wore number 20 and played running back for the Wildcats.
