The Trumann School Board voted to expedite $1,500 to the City of Trumann to help purchase a drug dog for the Trumann Police Department at their regular meeting last week. Board member Jeff Jones put forth a motion to help with the purchase price of the dog. The motion was seconded by Ronnie Everhart. The members approved the motion with the stipulation that the dog will be used at the school for random drug searches during the school year...

The Trumann Police Department made three felony arrests in one case on June 14. Ptl. Glen Smith made a probation search at the residence of 120 Cypress and found in a bedroom under a mattress approximately three ounces of what appeared to be marijuana. Paraphernalia was also located, according to police reports...

When Pastor Rick Forbis assumed his duties in the pulpit of Calvary Pentecostal Church in Trumann, he never dreamed that he would someday be celebrating a special milestone with his congregation In July, Pastor Forbis will begin his 30th year of service with the congregation. Checkerboard Antiques has been a Trumann establishment for over ten years, and owner Tina Middleton recently made a big change in the business. J.T. Adams Sr., 88, of Harrisburg died Sunday, June 17, 2007, at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro. He was born Jan. 12, 1919, in Tennessee, the son of Corbett A. Adams and Ola Jane Cooper Adams. He was a farmer and of the Methodist faith. He married Vada Marie Forbis on Dec. 19, 1937, and they enjoyed 62 years before her death in 1999.
