Just ask Gene Ashcraft, who was surprised recently when Mayor Dale Dunlap declared Oct. 30, 2006 as Gene Ashcraft Day in Lepanto. Riley "Gene" Ashcraft is retiring from the United States Post Office after 39 years or service. The day named after him was declared in a proclamation issued by Mayor Dunlap earlier this week...

With a score of 40-0 over McCrory at the half, the rule could have been put into effect earlier than it was, but the point was made…….the 2006 version of these Indians is very, very good...

The First Missionary Baptist Church, which was located on the corner of Oak and Edgewood, has been demolished. The church building was erected in 1936. Marked Tree continues recycling program

The city of Marked Tree has been doing curbside recycling since 2001. They have received grants from the state of Arkansas to have the recycling program. They have received a bobcat, wood chipper, leaf vacuum, oil burning stove, a Ford pick-up truck and funds to build sheds from this program...
