Arrests made in connection with shooting, truck theft

Joe Terrell Palmore, 19, of Patrick Street in Jonesboro was taken into custody by the Jonesboro Police Department Feb. 8 on a warrant for a terroristic act. Palmore was brought back to Marked Tree and had a bond hearing before Judge Steve Inboden. Bond was set at $250,000 for an April 7 appearance in Poinsett County Circuit Court...

Lepanto Garment workers plan reunion

The second Lepanto Garment Worker's Reunion will be on Saturday, Feb. 25 at the Harvest Grill in Lepanto. The event will kick off at 9:30 a.m. with time for sharing stories and photos. Lunch will be served around noon. The garment factory began production in 1959 and employed as many as 150 women during its peak times. The plant was in production for over 30 years and made garments for Bobbie Brooks, The Villager, Jones of New Your, Lady Bug and even uniforms for Navy officers...
