The Trumann High School class of 1954 came together and bought a beautiful marble bench to honor the memory of classmate Nina Helen Whitlatch Trenthem. The bench is placed just outside the dining room doors of the Trumann Country Club. Visitors can sit on the bench and look out over the nine-hole golf course...

The Trumann Lions Club is compiling a list of businesses in the community who would like the American Flag displayed on certain holidays. The flags are delivered by Lions members on the holiday, and then picked up at the end of the day. The Rector Saddle Club will hold a horse show starting at 6 p.m. Saturday Aug. 20 at the Rector Arena. A special speed show will be held Friday Sept. 9. Added money will be given away and a saddle will be awarded to the high money winner.

The Leadership Trumann recently filled bags with donations of school supplies they will deliver to Cedar Park and Central Elementary before school begins Friday. At the conclusion of this year's Leadership Trumann program the class decided on the Little Red School House as their service project and to give the supplies to Cedar Park and Central schools...

Quack quack waddle waddle! It's the time of year again for the 23th annual Trumann Wild Duck Festival. Planning has begun early this year to make it the biggest and best Duck Fest ever. Bay School District is implementing some new changes to their student handbook. Students are no longer allowed to carry cell phones into school building. They can not have them on their person or in backpacks. Students are allowed to leave them in their vehicles, but they can not be brought into school buildings. This policy is for grades K-12...

Students in Trumann School District will begin the 2005 -- 2006 school year at 8 a.m. on Friday, August 19. Trumann High School principal, Jim Montgomery, announced changes to the school handbook which parents need to be aware of. The first is in regards to cellular phones.
