James Russell Conatser, 66, of Trumann passes away on Thursday, Nov. 11, 2004 at St. Bernard's Medical Center in Jonesboro of natural causes. He was born in Lepanto and had lived in Trumann since 1972. He was the former manager of the Trumann Waterworks, former school teacher, member and past president of the Trumann Lions Club, member of the Trumann Masonic Lodge and a member of the First Baptist Church in Trumann...

Druary Floyd Brock, 64 of Trumann passed away on Thursday, Nov. 11, 2004 at the Wynnwood Nursing Center in Wynne of natural causes. He was born and a lifetime resident of Trumann. He was manager of the Trumann Country Club, a veteran of the US Army and Korean War and member of the Freer Baptist Church...

Dianna Lynn Osment, 44, of Trumann died Sunday, Nov. 14, 2004 at her residence. A lifetime resident of Trumann, she was a playground aide for the Trumann School District and a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. Survivors include one daughter, Whitney Nicole Osment of Trumann; six sisters, Wanda Glowacz and Katherine McMullin, both of Harrisburg, Charlotte Baxter and Marlene Hancock, both of Trumann, Nancy White of Jonesboro and Patsy Davis of West Memphis; five brothers, Robert Blasingame and Keith Blasingame, both of Trumann, Vernon Blasingame of Harrisburg, Calvin Blasingame of Stephenville, Texas, and David Blasingame of Bono; and her fiancé, Gary Russell of Trumann.. ...

Betty Johnson Churchwell, 69, of Harrisburg died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2004 at Harrisburg. She was retired from Trumann School District, was of the Pentecostal belief and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eck Churchwell; her parents, Tobe and Julia Bolding Johnson; one brother, William "Spooks" Johnson and one sister, Virginia Schmidt...

The VA is providing a van to shuttle veterans to the VA hospital in Memphis twice a week. Veterans who need a ride to Memphis can catch the van every Tuesday and Thursday mornings and returns that afternoon. Pickup times are 6:45 a.m. at the Shell Gas, located near the 69 bypass in Trumann. Those riding the van are allowed to park on the north of the building next to Highway 69...

The traditional "Day after Thanksgiving Trumann High School Class of 59 Mini-reunion" will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 26 at the Trumann Country Club. There are no formal activities planned just socializing and reminiscing with fellow class mates...

Charles Steve Morgan, 100 Boxwood in Trumann, was arrested on Nov. 6 by Trumann Police Department Ptl. Paul Keith for the felony charge of possession of controlled substance (crystal meth) with intent to deliver. According to police reports Morgan was arrested after a warrant inventory of his vehicle turned up the controlled substance...

The Trumann Christmas parade is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 5. The rain date is scheduled for Dec. 12. All entries need to be lined up in the old Wal-Mart parking lot by 1:15 p.m. The parade route has been changed for this year's parade. It will begin at the old Wal-Mart on Hwy 463, proceed south to the second light at the intersection at Main, turn east onto Main then turn onto Pine and end in the high school parking lot...

Judge Sharon Keller, the presiding judge of the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals has announced her appointment of Dr. Mel Brown to the Judicial Advisory Committee (JAC) for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ).
