Marked Tree voters to consider millage increase Tuesday

The 2003 Millage Election will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2003. Voters are being asked by the Marked Tree School District to add 3.0 new maintenance and operation (M&O) mills to meet the 25.0 mill M&O requirement. Voters are being given the opportunity to vote in this tax increase to avoid a larger increase of 7.3 to 8.3 new M&O mills, which the Poinsett County Quorum Court will be required to levy if voters defeat the millage request, according to the Attorney General. ...
