Bay City Council hears report on new garbage truck

At its meeting April 7, the Bay City Council learned that the city had purchased a garbage truck. The city borrowed $70,000 at an interest rate of 3.72 percent from MidSouth Bank to help pay for the truck, Mayor Quillon Vincent told the council. Relay for Life slated April 26

This year will mark the third year that Trumann has hosted the Relay for Life. Money raised from the event will go towards cancer research. Teams of eight to 15 members are organized to walk in the event. It will take place April 26 and 27. It will start at 6 p.m. on Friday, April 25, and end at 6 a.m. on Saturday, April 26. Ida Othel Carman, 87, of Berwyn, Ill., died March 26, 2003, at the Victoria Manor Nursing Center in LeGrange, Ill. of natural causes.
