Literacy walk-a-thon

April is Literacy Month. The Literacy League of Craighead and Poinsett Counties is having its 2003 Literacy Walk-A-Thon at the Joe Mack Campbell Athletic Complex, located at 3021 Dan Ave., Jonesboro. The event will be Saturday, April 5, to raise community awareness and support for the literacy program. The walk is from 10 a.m. to noon. Each walker will get a t-shirt with a $5 donation. The Trumann Lady Wildcats' softball team defeated Bay's Lady Yellowjackets 20-1. The Lady Cats scored 12 runs in the seventh and had only two errors for the game.
