Richard Wayne Wright, Sr., age 31 a lifetime resident of Trumann, died Friday at the St. Bernard's Medical Center. He was born in Jonesboro, was a siding contractor, and was of the Assembly of God belief. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Ann Wright and Patricia Gene Wright, by his parents, Earl & Stella Wright, and by his maternal grandfather, Bill Crews...

Mr. Rex Clifford Smith of Trumann died Wednesday, Jan. 8, at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland, Miss., of natural causes. He was 80 years old. Mr. Smith was born in Bay, Ark., and had lived in Trumann most of his lifetime. He was a retired salesman for Life and Casualty Insurance for 30 years, retired bus driver for the Trumann Public Schools, member of the Trumann Masonic Lodge #693 where he served as worshipful master in 1954, member of the Trumann American Legion Post 42 and a veteran of the U.S. ...

Mr. Johnnie Lee Burrow, of Jonesboro, died Jan. 8, at St. Bernard's Medical Center in Jonesboro of natural causes. He was 48 years old. Mr. Burrow was born in Trumann and had lived in Jonesboro for the past eight years and was formerly of Harrisburg. He was a truck driver, veteran of the U.S. Army and of the Church of God of Prophecy faith. He was preceded in death by his father, William Harold Burrow in 1976 and one brother, James Harold Burrow...

The Bay City Council heard from Jonesboro Mayor Hubert Brodell and Jim McKinnon about a Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) at their regular meeting on Jan. 13. The Trumann Area Fine Arts Council is sponsoring a photography contest in Trumann. The rules of the contest are the picture can be color or black and white, must be matted and can be of any subject.
