Trumann develops seal

The city of Trumann has developed a new city seal. Several months ago city clerk / treasurer Patsy Bullock was contacted by the Municipal League in North Little Rock. The Municipal League was adding a new wing to their building. One part of the wing was to have each city in the state of Arkansas' city seal etched onto a tile and placed in the wing. As the city did not presently have a seal, David Hicks, a Trumann native, was asked to come up with a drawing that represented the city...

Entergy awards Community Partnership Grant to Trumann Sports Complex (Local News ~ 11/13/02)
Entergy Corporation is awarding $53,500 in Community Partnership Grants to schools and non-profit organizations in Arkansas in 2002. The money will help pay for a wide variety of programs to benefit Arkansas communities, schools and youth. Among the grant recipients is the Trumann Sports Complex. This year marks the 75th anniversary of the Trumann Community House. It was built in 1927 by the employees of the Poinsett Lumber and Manufacturing (Singer) for the its employees, who bought their memberships for $1. The Community House has been serving the needs of Trumann residents ever since. At one time it was the only basketball court in town and was used by the school as a court for all its games... -
