Trumann youngsters will be celebrating the first Pee-Wee Homecoming, Saturday, Oct. 12. The homecoming ceremony will take place between the fourth and fifth grade game and the sixth grade football games. The first game begins at 10 a.m. The players in each grade selected the Pee-Wee Homecoming court. He spoke with the group about the requirements to be a fireman in Trumann and what the fire academy is like. Annie Sanders, 90, of Trumann died Wednesday, Oct. 2 at her residence of natural causes. She was born in Lexington, Tenn. and moves to Paragould at an early age. She later moved to Bay, then California, back to Bay in 1973 and to Trumann this year. She was a member of the Baptist Church and a retired nurse's aid...

Olean Mills of Payneway died Sunday, Oct. 6, 2002, at St. Bernard's Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro. She was born March 15, 1930, at Etowah. She was the daughter of Esker Wilce Tucker and Ivy Oti (Casiday) Tucker. The only girl of five children, she grew up tough and always being picked on. ...

Trumann faced Harrisburg Friday night missing some starters but the outcome didn't show any signs of it. Trumann defeated Harrisburg 20-0. "We were playing shorthanded," Trumann Coach Rick Timbs said. "We were playing kids that usually play back-up. Michael Loggins had an interception which led to the first touchdown. The Trumann Wildkittens defeated the Rivercrest Junior Colts 18-0 this past Thursday. With 6:28 left in the third quarter, Perry Heavener scored on a one-yard touchdown run. Richard Nelson added the two-point run. With 2:20 left in the third quarter, Jordan Hudson blocked a Rivercrest punt. Michael Beltz recovered it at the 35-yard line. On Monday, Sept. 30, the Junior Lady Wildkittens defeated the Junior Lady Yellowjackets 15-11 and 16-14 in volleyball action.
