Jewell Mandy Elrod Arms, 79, of Trumann died Monday, Sept. 23 at St. Bernard's Medical Center in Jonesboro of natural causes. She was born in Athens, Ala. and had lived most of her life in Trumann. She was retired from the Singer Company and a member of the First Baptist Church in Trumann...

Mr. Douglas Kee Goodman died Monday, September 16 at his residence. He was 57 years old. Mr. Goodman lived in Jonesboro for twenty years, having moved there from Trumann. He is survived by one son, Luke Goodman of Jonesboro; two daughters, Danita Bobbit and Jennifer Goodman both of Jonesboro; one sister, Lana Goodman of Jonesboro; and three grandchildren, Jade Goodman, Tyler Samuels, and Teran Roberts...

At its last regular meeting Sept. 9, the Bay School Board approved to receive a Qualified Zone Academy Bonds (QZAB) loan. The school will receive about $100,000 but will only have to pay back $92,000 of the loan in 10 years. To qualify for the loan, Bay schools had to have 35 percent of its students on free or reduced lunches and an organization willing to give 100 hours of work a year...
