Local teacher named regional Teacher of the Year

Ms. Stephanie Clay, Marked Tree Junior High English teacher, has been awarded the regional Teacher of the Year by Wal-Mart and the Miss America organization. Not only did Ms. Clay receive the most votes from the students, they exclaimed how Ms. Clay goes above and beyond the duties of a classroom teacher. One student wrote, "I feel like I could tell Ms. Clay my biggest secret and she would not tell anyone." Another said, "She's always so bubbly and energetic. Her class is just fun."...

New raceway to open in Marked Tree

NEA Raceway will be opening Memorial Day weekend for its first race. The gates will open Saturday, May 26, at 8 a.m. and the first race will begin at 10 a.m. for ATV and Motocross. The track is conveniently located right off Highway 63B in Marked Tree, right behind the Travelair Motel.
